Politics are worse than imagined

The politics of Washington, D.C. are worse than I could have imagined.
We elect politicians to represents us, but once they enter the swamp, they discover their first priority is no longer those who voted them in but the party leadership. They are constantly pressured to vote certain ways. Money from the national party trumps any ability to vote their common sense.
I wonder why we do not send dogs to Washington in place of live bodies because they can be trained like politicians. In a crude way, the party leadership become pimps for the rest of Congress. Sad to say, it will probably never change.
