Politicians should focus on working together

In 2008, when President Obama was elected, he enjoyed a Democratic majority in the Senate and the House. During those two years, all of the above were not willing to negotiate with the Republicans at all.
And they managed to do a lot of damage, to the economy and ultimately to all Americans in this country with their socialist ideas.
Then in the 2010 election, Republicans were elected, managing a majority in the House of Representatives. And now the Democrats will not work with them.
You might ask yourself how this could be resolved? Maybe if our government and especially President Barack Obama would rid himself of his socialist plan they could work together.
Maybe if the president paid more attention to leading than to campaigning and vacations something could be accomplished.
And a message to all of Congress and the president: Listen to the majority of the public instead of making decisions to appease this group or that group to get re-elected.
How did we Americans allow Congress to give themselves such a generous revenue package and health coverage and pension?
I think that is why they will do anything to keep this package and job instead of doing what is good for this country.
