Political money is not serving the people

I'm a life long Iowan and I'm very very concerned about the direction of our country. What concerns me is the money spent by corporations, unions, super PACs and billionaires. Because of the decision by the Supreme Court in the Citizens United case, it allows unlimited spending by the groups mentioned. These groups only make up 1 percent of Americans, but influence all elections from national, state and local levels and making average Americans spectators to the fights between competing factions of the upper class. This is not a partisan issue. Money is being spent on all sides, but is this money being spent for the betterment of the country or for a special interest?
The solution to this problem is a constitutional amendment. The 28th Amendment would limit concentrated money in the elections, end the corrupt 'pay-to-play” lobbying system, and keep Corporations in business and out crony politics. Money isn't speech, it is Power. To learn more, go to American Promise.net, which is a non-partisan organization which brings Americans together to win this fight.
