Police officers deserve protection

To the editor:
After hearing about the man in Waterloo who donated $1,000 to the police department so they could start saving money to buy body cameras for police officers, I was wondering that since our police department gets money from the speed cameras, there really isn't any reason why our police officers don't have one.
When the officers go out and put their lives on the line, there is no reason why each should not be taken care of as much as possible.
