Please, replace Althea Cole with an actual journalist

Once again, Althea Cole has denigrated and derided an entire group of people, apparently without so much as speaking to one of them to hear their side of the story. (Sunday, Oct. 1, “Bigger paycheck? UI grad student workers need a reality check.”)
Did you bother to interview the union officers who led the grad student protest at the Board of Regents’ meeting, Althea?
Did you talk with any of the grad student union members who put in those long hours and do that difficult work?
You could start by asking them how many of those “half-time” jobs are really half-time.
No, of course you didn’t talk to them. You had your strong opinions already lined up, you looked at a couple of websites, and you threw in some sneering, “I’m so much smarter than you are” statements to round out the package.
Please, can we replace Althea with someone who looks at both sides — and thinks?
