Please reinstate mask mandates in Iowa

On Feb. 5, Gov. Kim Reynolds rescinded mask restrictions. As a citizen, and a Christian, this concerns me. I am under 65, and have some health conditions that put me at risk for the virus. I will most likely be down the list for getting the vaccine. Whether vulnerable or non-vulnerable, every person in the state of Iowa needs to be wearing masks and taking all possible precautions. Why is it so necessary to rescind mask mandates now? Iowa is not out of the woods yet.
By ending mask rules, the governor has made it difficult, if not impossible, for families and churches to gather for Easter Sunday. This will be the second year in a row that many of us who are Christians will not be able to be together with families or at our places of worship. Reynolds'actions are putting us all more at risk.
I am urging Reynolds to reinstate the mask mandates. As Iowans, we need to all work together to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. It is imperative; however the governor seems to not think so. The test positivity rates are still high. And we are one of the slowest states to get vaccines. Let's work together governor.
