Pitts is correct, we’ve lost ourselves

For one, I'm so glad that you printed Leonard Pitts' column. He is such a great writer and not at all afraid to speak truth to power.
Sadly, he's correct when he writes that we've lost ourselves, as well as losing John McCain and George H.W. Bush. We might not always have agreed with their politics, but they stood firm in their convictions and lived noble lives.
Then, when we compare these fine men with Donald Trump, we see just how strong and brave they were. With Trump we have a man who demeans women and minorities, and doesn't speak the truth.
Trump talks about a wall to make lives even harder for the people trying to get to the U.S. for a better life, and never has thought of what his wall would do to migrating animals. Mountain lions could well be extinct if they can't get to the north to breed. Do we really want such things to happen? I hope to leave the things we've enjoyed for our next generations.
