Phil Hemingway deserved better from school board

I am outraged by the treatment of Phil Hemingway by members of the Iowa City school board. He has been a thorn in their side due to his attention to detail on reckless spending and looking out for the taxpayers and students. There was a comment in the paper that he disagreed with the board on certain items - how dare he.
Those who tout diversity have no tolerance for anyone with a differing opinion. What's appalling is their arrogance, that the progressive line of thinking is the only mind-set allowed.
Hemingway would have been a good addition to the position to which he was denied. Those of you who went out of their way to defeat his nomination should be ashamed of themselves.
