Pets don’t belong at farmers market

I have heard a number of comments lately about dogs at the Downtown Farmers Market. I have heard of dogs urinating in and around the vendors' stands, or on other peoples' purchased items, and confrontations with other dogs.
We have pets ourselves, but I don't feel they or others belong at the market. The Iowa City market does not allow pets. Check for yourself: http://www.icgov.org/default/?id=1108.
