People’s manners at event were appalling

Thank you, Coe College and all demonstrators, for putting on this year's Playground for Science (Oct. 27). I took my two older children, and we had a blast concerning the demonstrations . The rest of it (the part that included other parents/children) was absolutely appalling!
The one thing that Coe's “playground” lacked was decent weather. What the spectators lacked was respect for the demonstrators and fellow spectators, good manners, boundaries and discipline for their children, common sense and a general decency.
How many times did I hear “Don't touch the nails on the bed of nails!” Did kids or adults listen? No. Pushing, shoving, talking when the demonstrator was, talking on the phone, in general acting like a bunch of savages, acting as if Coe is required to put this on just to suit them and their children.
Perhaps next year, Coe should just forego its awesome demonstrations and hold a three-hour class on the basics of manners, respect and common courtesy.
