People, not guns, capable of violence

To the editor:
The Gazette continues running articles about 'gun violence” as do the reporters for KCRG-TV9 and other outlets.
The term 'gun violence” is either a stupid misnomer or a deliberate one. I'm betting on the second choice.
Anyone should know that a tool or inanimate object doesn't have the capacity to express violence or any other emotion. But any publication knows that if a theme or term is hammered upon long enough, there are many who will soak up this propaganda. From there, it spreads until people are fooled or pressured into giving up their guns to the extent that we will become victims of a socialist government. By then, people will realize their mistake and be wishing they had their guns back, but it will be too late. Those who give up their guns for peace and safety deserve neither.
It's interesting to note that after the spate of knife stabbings there was not one word uttered by the news agencies using the term 'knife violence.”
So, whenever you see or hear the term 'gun violence,” voice your objections to the responsible media. No doubt the propaganda will persist, but every time you see or hear the term, mentally substitute 'human violence” for 'gun violence.” 'Human violence” is the honest and realistic term.
