People disrupting debate don’t want truth
Aug. 14, 2009 7:52 am
Our country could benefit from a constructive dialogue about health care and how it can be improved. Sadly, that is not going to happen. The atmosphere for a constructive dialogue is being destroyed by people who have regressed to the lowest levels of belligerence and personal attack.
Recently, we have heard Rush Limbaugh comparing the Obama administration and the Democrats to Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. We have seen Glenn Beck joke about poisoning Nancy Pelosi and we have heard Sarah Palin talk about “Obama's death panels” that might let her Downs syndrome baby die. There is nothing constructive about any of this.
We have seen protesters attending town hall meetings for the sole purpose of being disruptive. They have no interest in a constructive dialogue.
It is as if these people don't want to know the truth. They only want to obstruct.
America deserves better.
