People determine limit judicial power

Iowa law states marriage to be between “a male and a female.”
The Iowa Supreme Court has politicized itself by ignoring this law as well as thousands of years of legal precedent and human history. Three of these rogue judges are up for a retention vote next election. They claim to have discovered a constitutional right to same-sex marriage, a right that was “ ... at one time unimagined.”
I have a better idea, let's imagine them unemployed!
Our state Constitution as a political compact acknowledges all political power is inherent in the people. It's obvious that neither our state government nor certainly the judiciary branch of our state government was an original party to that compact.
The judiciary, therefore, has no constitutional authority to interpret that compact (our Constitution) or to determine the extent of its own powers, which are granted by the people.
Vote no on the back of your ballot to reject the retention of these Supreme Court justices. You'll be telling them and all future judges that it's the people who determine the extent of judicial power, not judges.
