Pelletier would revamp, end Recorder’s Office
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Oct. 9, 2010 2:21 pm
Paul Pelletier is a candidate for Linn County Recorder because he believes in a limited, fiscally responsible government that listens to the people. He sees our city government as we see it: unresponsive with a “we'll do what we want” regardless of the will of the citizens, our taxes used for boondoggle projects such as the hotel/convention center, and then the need for more money and thus the implementation of a “pet tax,” and lethargic responses to certain neighborhoods after the 2008 flood with constant crying about not enough money from the federal government.
Paul wants to save taxpayers approximately
$1.3 million per year by eliminating the Recorder's Office because it basically rubber stamps documentation from two other departments. Paul is asking you to vote for him to put him out of a job. Heard the incumbent make that statement lately?
No, she stated there is “still much to do” in her office. After 13 years on the job, why is there still so much?
Just think, what we, the Linn County taxpayers, could do with
$1.3 million. Vote for Pelletier and let's find out!
