Pay attention to emergency vehicles on the road

The firetruck for Fire Station No. 7 left for a call at 5 p.m. Sunday. I am writing this to apologize on behalf of the many drivers who blatantly chose to ignore the truck's flashing lights and loud horn blasts at the intersection of First Avenue NE and 29th Street NE. I was walking and was appalled at the total disregard and lack of respect for our firefighters. People: Pay attention!
