Pawlenty shows courage, leadership

With a $14 trillion debt, unemployment more than 9 percent and a stagnant economy, it is clear that the out-of-control spending policies of the current administration are not the “change” we needed. President Obama seems to be content throwing money at the problems, while avoiding a real discussion.
Recently, I had the opportunity to hear Republican presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty, former Minnesota governor, speak. He showed his courage and willingness to tackle the hard issues by taking on ethanol subsidies in Iowa, then going to Florida to propose Social Security and Medicare reform, and traveling to Wall Street to let them know that the days of bailouts and handouts are over.
We need a leader with that type of courage and honesty if we ever want to get out of this mess. Pawlenty, you have my vote.
