Patient refused by doctor on what terms?
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Jul. 17, 2010 12:40 am
Recently, we returned to Cedar Rapids from Colorado because we thought it better to be back with family as we are getting older and my husband is going to need care for some time with his knee replacement.
We thought it best to find a orthopedic doctor here in town. Well, what a surprise we got.
After taking my husband's medical records to the doctor's office ahead of time, they refused to take him and suggested he go to the University of Iowa, which we will do when he gets out of rehab.
Now the question is: Did they refuse him because of his medical conditions or because he is on Medicare? I guess the golden years are just for healthy people; what do you think?
