Pastor advocating guns unbelievable

I can't quit thinking about Pastor Darran J. Whiting's Jan. 24 guest column, “?‘Enough is enough' on gun control.” He wrote that the president should “start encouraging law-abiding citizens to carry weapons ...” He called for “Bible-believing churches to speak out for the Truths of the Scriptures.”
I have to wonder what bible he is reading. I can't fathom pistol-packing pastors advocating for more instruments of violence. Maybe instead of WWJD (What Would Jesus Do) it should be WWJC (What Would Jesus Carry).
