Partisanship dominates policy decisions

I’m not going to cite any specific issues, but I just want to say that I’m tired of our government being ruled by parentheses. What does that mean? Decisions today are made not by the relative merit of the issue, but whether it’s an (R) or (D) behind the legislator’s name. Whether new to government or veteran, it’s the political party of the legislator that determines their vote. Have they lost their ability to think — and to represent their electorate?
