Parents, limit kids’ access to violent video games
The Gazette Opinion Staff

Why is it so difficult to understand the underlying cause of all these theater, mall, school and gang shootings? These “kids” have been playing extremely violent video games 24/7 all their lives and now either don't care or can't differentiate between fiction and real life! The problem lies with their parents' lack of parenting skills. Parents need to limit or remove access to these violent video games.
Gun control is not the issue. With gun control, only the bad guys have guns! As KCRG-TV9 pointed out a couple of weeks ago, none of the recent shootings in Cedar Rapids were a result of legal gun ownership.
