Paper offers details other media doesn’t

Occasionally I am reminded why I, an avowed dinosaur, continue to read the news in print.
I read your paper for the details that are not presented in television news or Internet blogs. Your article in Wednesday's paper about Gov. Terry Branstad's news conference, in which he indicated his desire to reform the state pension system, gave me some facts I did not receive from other media.
Branstad did not indicate his reform plans, but your article offered a few clues and answered questions that came to mind. Why reform when Iowa has one of the best retirement systems in the country? You found that Iowa's IPERS, which is funded at 81.4 percent, is very good. As I remembered, last year's Legislature addressed some concerns with IPERS and fixed them. You found this out and reported that our governor seems out of touch with the work the last Legislature did on IPERS.
This is only one example of a print article that sated my inquiring mind. Keep up the good work, and I'll keep reading your hard copy.
