Paper lacks national news coverage

The first act in my daily routine is to open the door, pick up our newspaper and read it while enjoying a cup of coffee. As I scrutinize The Gazette, it's obvious that the obituary section is foremost in your publication. The remaining pages center on regional activity and competing positions on local issues.
Read your editorial pages and it should become apparent as to why Iowa is designated as 'flyover country” in today's world. Yet political 'wannabe's” travel to Iowa as one of their first stops seeking a reading on their 'chances” of success. Why?
They are typical politicians living their lives at 50,000 feet while the majority of us exist in a world at sea level. Iowa is not a state with the knowledge, or interest, in national problems.
For a state recognized as having an excellent national reputation educating its high school graduates, you have a responsibility to lead this region into the details of what's going on in Washington, D.C.
You are not doing that. Instead you are giving us a daily dose of 'pabulum” for babies that puts us to sleep or bores us out of our minds. You cannot blame this on the Internet.
