Pagans not inclined to hate

This is in response to Norman Sherman’s otherwise insightful column, “When a Christian is not a Christian.” On the whole, I couldn’t agree more with the content of the column, except for one thing. Referring to Christian Nationalists he says, “They exhibit pagan hate and not Christian Love.” Here, I think, he is being unfair to pagans.
I know and have met quite a few pagans and it would be hard to find a more kind hearted and tolerant group of people anywhere. In fact, they are probably more tolerant than most, having endured so much intolerance throughout the ages. They are certainly no more inclined to hate than anybody else, in contrast to Christian Nationalists who cultivate and spread hate for their own destructive ends. Which is, I think, the point Mr. Sherman was trying to make.
