Out of tears after election

The Gazette offers audio versions of articles using Instaread. Some words may be mispronounced.
I'm reading less journalism (The Gazette included.) I’ve turned off CNN. MSNBC was shelved months ago. Local TV news is for sports and weather only.
I still peek at The Gazette, which is how I found the review of Billerbeck's book Wildland Sentinel. A place to land for the weary. Raw feelings explained and vivid descriptions are what this reader needs postelection.
Every day feels like Nov. 6. Iowa feels wrecked. Driving yesterday, we saw a field of Black earth prepping for tile. I'm out of tears to cry over this devastation.
"I maintain a stubborn hope that, despite an uncertain future, my work will not have been in vain and that this beautiful place was worth my time," Billerbeck writes. As long as I'm with Billerbeck I'm OK.
Then I see a field prepping for tile. A setback.
