Our tax dollars are funding ICE

This a communication I sent to the two U.S. Senators and four U.S. House of Representatives at the end of December 2025:
No Iowan voted to have their tax dollars diverted from the common good to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The U.S. House of Representatives seems to be unaware that appropriating funds is only their responsibility. No information about a bill that authorized funds for subcontractors to do work for Home Land Security was released to the public.
Profiters have created companies. The for-profit companies are paid for their service to cruelty with Iowans’ misplaced tax dollars. The for-profit companies are subcontractors that hire young men to terrorize our immigrant population and strike fear in the hearts of all citizens. Our misplaced taxes pay for advertising to recruit ICE Agents, signing bonuses, wages for hours worked, hotel rooms for agents to rest, food to nourish their bodies and vehicles for transportation.
Iowans expect you, our U.S. Congressional Delegation, to do the right thing. Clawback Iowan’s tax dollars that have been misplaced to pay masked, unnamed ICE Agents.
