Our roads are the worst in Iowa

We saw in The Gazette about the city wanting to have another vote on the 1-cent sales tax to improve our city roads. Boy, was that shocking. Not!
Ever since the flood, our roads have been the worst in Iowa. Many people have commented on them and I can't tell you all the different reasons why we couldn't get them fixed. And now we need a sales tax for our city streets. My husband has always said they're waiting until they get so bad and will have no choice but to vote it in. Where has all the money gone that is allotted for them? Sure seems funny we can get sidewalks fixed up downtown for restaurants, though.
Also, The Gazette had an article about our city golf courses. The article sounded to me that you think the people aren't golfing like they used to. Not so. We used to buy our grandsons season passes for Christmas. That was before they were priced out of our budget. Also, as far as the golfers not golfing, wrong, they are going to other golf courses, such as Shellsburg, due to the price. They can afford them there.
It used to be on the weekends my husband and two grandsons would go out around 4:30 a.m. to make sure they could get out and golf before it was so crowded. Not anymore. They go to surrounding areas. It's sad our money has to leave Cedar Rapids.
