Our ‘neighbors’ are being selfish

To the editor:
First, it was the casino, now it is a water park ('Plans pitched for water park in Cedar Rapids,” April 3).
It seems like our 'neighbors” are being selfish. Is Cedar Rapids the bad city meant to be punished? Why is it OK that Coralville wants to build a huge convention center for concerts, but Cedar Rapids cannot build a water park, that can be used all year and by Community College School district for its swim team? I did not think that Cedar Rapids was 'Under a Dome”.
What ever happened to competition of cities to further their businesses? Are Riverside and Waterloo/La Porte City the only three cities that can throw a tantrum and get their 'back scratched” if they claim they will lose money and they can whine the loudest?
