Our leaders spell oppression to me

The word “oppress” popped up in the crossword and kind of describes how I feel. Our elected people raise their own paychecks and tax us to pay for it. Strong law enforcement with high taxes and a jobless economy spells oppression to me.
China is making everything we use now, so what future does all that leave for our young people?
