'Our CR' magazine is propaganda

Thanks to Cedar Rapids for sending out the “Our CR” magazine. How much did it cost to publish and send this propaganda?

I couldn't wait to turn to page 6 to see why we bought the hotel. It turns out mostly because other cities are doing it and it will be an asset to the community. How long will it take to recover our $54.5 million? That question was not answered.

I also appreciate the invitation to the Amphitheater Music Fest on Aug. 20. I received this publication Aug. 23 in the mail.

I see the city offices will move back downtown in the summer of 2012. I think most people were happy to have them at Westdale, where parking was available. Buying Westdale would have been money well spent but we will save our downtown at all costs - to the taxpayer. The magazine also described the new library but not the waste we incurred swapping with True North.

The new garbage collection service is great and will save us money. It is too bad that people in charge did not have the foresight to determine what people would have to do with their old garbage cans.

Elect new officials.
