Ordinary people are smart, thinking people

Hooray for The Gazette Editorial for studying, considering and then writing the Jan. 2 editorial, “The way Congress works - or doesn't.”
The editorial ended with, “We detect no will in Congress to adjust the way it works. If Americans want a different system, voters must change the lineup.”
Change the lineup, yes! Your respected organization took the position that I hear in conversations everywhere.
Congress and the administration act as though we ordinary working people will take everything they throw at us and accept it.
They forget that the people they are supposed to represent are thinking people. We have patience but even our Midwest openness and patience runs out.
I hope that we ordinary people will remember what our so-called government leaders mostly do for themselves at voting time later this year.
