Opposing the new Marion library

I support new libraries, but I don't support replacing the Nancy A. Miller Marion Library at this time. Just completed in 1996, why should we reward poor vision and planning by building an $18 million swap so soon? It serves the community just fine the way it is.
I didn't believe the latest statistic that it helps over 1,000 people per day. I also don't believe that we can get $3.3 million dollars for the existing property unless the city buys it.
My point is this: since the board has already approved this plan, please do the right thing. This time hire a general contractor that is both union and local.
