Open debates to all political candidates

Yea for Todd Dorman. I appreciate the information in his columns and I especially liked the information on Rick Stewart ('A voice outside the debate,” Sept. 30).
I have been anxiously waiting to hear some information about him in the news. Since Stewart refuses to buy his way in (good for him) he doesn't get coverage, but what I have heard has me wanting to know more about him.
It sounds like Stewart is very accomplished and knowledgeable in many areas, and may be the answer to choosing a candidate that isn't bought with 'Fat Cat” money. It would sure be great to see all the candidates on statewide televised debates, allowing the public a real choice outside of those who are spending millions that could better be spent on getting the USA back in shape to face a challenging future.
No wonder people don't vote and are ill informed when they do. First the candidates bash each other, and then the bashed have to try to explain why the bashing isn't true. With all the character bashing and fact checking (which is no help at all), some of us are sick to death of politics and don't feel these individuals are anyone we would like to see represent us.
