One man not responsible for system’s problems

I am puzzled and dismayed that The Gazette would grant guest column space for Dick Fredericks' rant against Washington High School Principal Ralph Plagman. My son is a recent graduate of Wash, where he was challenged to achieve at a very high level, thanks to the standards set by Plagman. Washington has many outstanding teachers who were recruited and supported by Plagman and other school administrators.
Yes, our education system has many problems, but to lay those problems at the feet of a man with the dedication and heart of Plagman is completely unfounded.
