On C.R. police and the way things used to be

Kudos to Linda Wardehoff for her Aug. 2 letter about the police and their day at work. So many people only think negative things about them; however, here was another time to show you how they help.
And to Dale Fry for his same-day letter about the keys left in the car. I feel the same way. You used to be able to leave your doors open even at night but not anymore.
And you can't keep or leave things in your yard because “maybe someone will steal it.” Well, it's our yard and we didn't invite the criminal into our yard, car, garage or front door, so why is he there?
