Occupy Wall Street is about class warfare
The Gazette Opinion Staff

It was only a matter of time before someone would compare the Occupy Wall Street hooligans to Jesus being against greed. Francis Omalley's letter (“A religious history of protesting greed,” Nov. 15) was more twisting of Scripture by those who don't understand what it really says.
Jesus' overturning of the tables, etc., in the Temple had nothing to do with an assault on greed. Rather, it was an assault on the commercialization of the Temple. Jesus was evicting these people because they were making that which was holy into “a robbers' den.” He was protesting the abuse of what was holy.
Occupy Wall Street protesters are selective in the whining against greed; their greed is OK. What Occupy Wall Street is about is class warfare. The true problems are in Washington, which is where the protests should be directed.
