O’Brien could make difference in Congress

The Tuesday Democratic primary is about more than choosing a candidate to succeed Bruce Braley in the U.S. House.
It's an opportunity to elect a candidate who will be a fierce advocate for working families.
That's why I'm supporting Dave O'Brien.
O'Brien has made his commitment to working families clear by being one of the most vocal supporters of not only raising the minimum wage to $10.10, but making sure that workers have the right to collectively bargain for a living wage.
He thinks it's unacceptable for anyone working full time to have to struggle to survive.
We have to elect someone who won't rest until families get the raise they've earned.
His experience of getting things done in the federal government is unmatched by any other candidate in this race.
During the Clinton administration, he worked for Secretary of Labor Robert Reich to protect the rights of workers.
Now, as a civil rights attorney in Cedar Rapids, he continues to fight for the rights of hardworking Iowans.
I have known O'Brien for 10 years. I have been able to see his commitment to the community in action as well as words.
While we benefit from many good candidates, I believe he is someone who can truly make a difference.
