Obey the speed limit to avoid a ticket

To the editor:
How about we classify the speed camera's 'notice of violation” as a 'stubborn tax”? It would be a better descriptor for those drivers who are too stubborn to change their cruise control settings as they drive through Cedar Rapids or those drivers who are too stubborn to notice the signage posted with the speed limit values.
If it wasn't so sad it would be funny as instead of drivers being responsible for their actions, their initial response is 'there must be some mistake.”
As for Cedar Rapids being unfriendly or impacted by the threats of 'never spending money in Cedar Rapids again,” it is highly unlikely that the drivers who were caught by the speed cameras were planning on stopping since they were happily speeding through town.
If people want the speed cameras to go away, all it would take is to obey the posted speed limits and support law enforcement. But I'll bet many drivers are too stubborn for that action to happen.
