Obama should declare war on climate change
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Dec. 21, 2009 11:08 pm
In Oslo, they gave the president the Peace Prize for escalating the War on Terror in March and escalating it again in November. And not just the usual Obama cheerleaders (the so-called “left”) loved his excuses for war in the Dec. 10 speech. Most on the right loved it, too.
In Copenhagen last week, the conference brought way too little agreement. Our country is its usual divided self about that.
So why doesn't President Obama declare a War on Climate Change? Surely that would evoke the unified (if perhaps mindless) effort that saving that planet will take.
