Obama family vacations while war goes on
The Gazette Opinion Staff

On July 19, I saw in The Gazette the Obama family out enjoying themselves on their vacation. Suppose our men and women are vacationing in Afghanistan, Iraq, etc., carrying backpacks weighing 60 pounds in terrific heat, tramping in the fields and roads where the enemy has set improvised explosive devices that kill and maim these men and women who are fighting for our citizens.
After seeing “60 Minutes” recently, I had a sleepless night thinking about this and then seeing the Obamas laughing and having a good time. When is it going to stop, the killing and injuring of our service people?
My husband was stationed in Korea in the early '50s in the U.S. Marine Corps. He will always be proud of his service to his country. I pray every day for the families whose loved ones are fighting for their country today and pray this war will be over soon. God bless them all.
