As a longtime Iowa Citian and business owner, I have had the privilege of knowing Ross Nusser since he was a child. Over the years, I’ve watched him grow into a dedicated community leader, a compassionate advocate, and a problem-solver who isn’t afraid to do the hard work to make Iowa City better.
Ross’s commitment to this city is deep and personal. He has spent over a decade working on mental health, substance use recovery, and affordable housing initiatives, serving on the boards of Community & Family Resources, Successful Living, and the Housing Fellowship. His leadership has directly improved the lives of some of our most vulnerable neighbors, from helping to develop housing for those suffering from chronic mental illness to expanding recovery housing for those overcoming addiction.
What sets Ross apart is his ability to unite people and find real solutions. He doesn’t seek credit or attention — he focuses on getting things done. In a time when politics feels increasingly divisive, Ross leads with empathy, integrity, and a vision for a stronger, more inclusive Iowa City.
I proudly support Ross Nusser for City Council, and I hope you will too.
