Nursing home shows compassion

My husband has been a resident of Willow Gardens Care Center in Marion for 17 months and he has been receiving excellent care. I have visited there every day since his admittance, going at different times of the day to observe the care. Things I have observed:

l Sincere care and compassion from staff to residents in challenging circumstances - daily. They go above and beyond what is expected.

l High degree of expertise of staff from administration, nurses, nurses aides, physical, occupational and speech therapists, food services and activities directors.

l Extreme cleanliness and maintenance of building.

l Staff always call me to keep me informed if care changes.

l Good food.

l Ongoing activities to stimulate the mind and body. Residents can choose to participate or not.

l If there is a problem called to their attention, administration does everything they can do to change standard operating procedures.

Putting a loved one in a nursing home is one of the most painful things any of us has to cope with. What I have observed at Willow Gardens has opened my eyes to see genuine care and concern put into motion. I have become completely at peace with the knowledge that my husband of 60 years will be cared for in the most caring and competent way. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone and have already done so.
