‘Normalcy’ is in the eye of the beholder

To the editor:
Regarding Leonard Pitts' June 7 column 'Rush Limbaugh's finding out he's not normal, and it scares him”:
The column addressed Rush Limbaugh's theorem of 'redefined normalcy.” The sad thing about Limbaugh is that he is a catalyst for division. He attributes the new norm to 'liberals.” A much used term that serves no useful purpose other than to divide one from another on the basis of unfounded perception.
No one 'liberal” or 'conservative” accepts Bruce Jenner's life decisions as 'normal.” The bottom line is that Jenner's decisions are his and hers alone.
The so-called 'new norm” has nothing to do with the rejection or acceptance of differing lifestyles. What is evolving, like it or not, is the constitutional concept of freedom of choice.
