No one to blame but ourselves

We need health care reform, but what is going on is not what we need. To get the bill through the Senate, the Senate leadership and the White House assured Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Nebraska, $100 million and Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-Louisiana, more $300 million in additional Medicare benefits for their states if they voted “Yes”, and these two are just a sample.
But, the goal to get the bill through the Senate before Christmas was met. Health care and costs to taxpayers were secondary. Now, with the election of Scott Brown, the urgency and the bill itself is changing direction. This is the price we pay when we vote people into office who continue to “make deals” and create stupid schedules on issues as critical as health care. They consider increasing taxes as a cure-all for their inability to run a responsible government.
This is not the fault of Democrats, Republicans or Independents, and it isn't this administration or any administration from the past. It is the fault of our government and what we have allowed it to become. Ask questions and vote wisely in the next election.
