I am not sure if it’s funny or sad that so many across the country participated in the “No Kings” protests.
Know your history. In the Battle of Yorktown in 1781, American troops led by General George Washington defeated the British in the last major battle of the Revolutionary War. This stopped the King’s control over the United States.
In Washington, D.C. last weekend, the same Army that stopped Kings from ruling over our country celebrated its 250th birthday. The celebration highlighted the history and might of the Army’s fighting force. Those of you who participated in the anti-Trump “No Kings“ protests rather than celebrating the Army that protects you looked foolish.
Some of those who stood on the corner shouting “No Kings,” point out it’s $45 million dollar cost as too high for such an event. I bet that many of those who felt this way recently cheered on the anti-ICE riots that took place across the U.S.
The arson, vandalism and looting that occurred as a part of those anti-ICE riots will result in more than $1 billion in insurance claims to innocent business and property owners caught in the crossfire. Let me do the math for you. The 250th celebration parade cost less than 5% of the damage caused by those who were burning the American flag while waiving that of their country.
A proud Army veteran, I am disgusted by those who opted not to join in on the 250th celebration of the Army’s proud history.
