I have tried to keep an open mind on the upcoming vote on the casino. The thing that made my decision for me came in the mail, a flyer that showed me the vote no people are grasping for straws of evidence that the vote yes people are not telling the facts.
Let's start with the “name all the investors argument.” The names were printed in the paper a few weeks ago. Then “where will it be located?” Until it is voted on, who cares except the vote nos (and potential sites recently were announced)?
Then the “who will manage it?” question. Why would they tell you that before it is approved by the voters or a license is OK'd by the state?
The “bare minimum in revenues for non-profits” question is insane because on Feb. 3, in your own flyer you show that they are telling you.
Oh, by the way, who are your investors? Just a guess, Tama, Riverside, Waterloo and Dubuque?
Game, set, match. Vote yes.
