We read with interest your coverage of the protest at the state Capitol in Des Moines in Tuesday’s (Feb. 18) Gazette. The coverage in Des Moines was good, unfortunately you neglected to cover the protest in your hometown of Cedar Rapids. The Gazette did not cover this story. There were at least 60 people across from the federal building carrying signs (in 3-degree weather) some of whom spoke with KWWL TV from Waterloo, the only TV news network present. All of our local news outlets, newspapers and TV networks failed their own community by not giving coverage to this event.
