Nick AbouAssaly not a good fit for Marion

To the editor:
Marion is a progressive and rapidly growing city. We are sprawling outward at a rapid pace.
During this rapid growth, AbouAssaly has been a council member for Marion. Because he is a practicing lawyer he has abstained from up to 25 percent of the council votes equaling over almost $20 million in spending. How can someone ask to represent you the citizens and lead a city when due to his job he can't represent you?
At the mayor's debate he stated our debt was $56.5 million and that Marion could sustain a debt of $120 million. He stated that we paid off $5 million of debt this past year but failed to state that over $25 million was added.
There are other better choices. Marion can do better. It's time to reach higher.
