Nice to recognize the good in Belle Plaine
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Dec. 4, 2009 11:16 pm
It seems that Belle Plaine gets into The Gazette only when something negative happens. On Nov. 4, it was nice to see Belle Plaine mentioned and praised for its brick mural downtown.
Belle Plaine's many caring residents have been taking steps to better the town. One step has been a series of murals in and around Main Street. The colorful murals are a great addition to the local businesses, but the brick mural is an outstanding work of art that will hopefully attract tourists.
It is good to see so many people care about Belle Plaine, and I have high hopes for its future. I applaud The Gazette for the positive focus on this small, rural community and I look forward to seeing more articles as Belle Plaine continues to improve its downtown area.
