NewBo needs a parking lot

NewBo needs a communal parking lot. The time has come for the city to return its majority ownership of land back to its citizens — place to land and venture forth.
This is a part of town that some, in the past, were adverse to traveling toward. Now it is a destination. The area has prospered and blossomed post-2008. Some of this prosperity was a hand out, but most was a hand up. Making something out of very little requires dedication. NewBo has fostered and promoted an idea that individuals can do just that. Now, people want to be here because there is something here.
To perpetuate and facilitate that motive of wanting to be where activity is happening, (the scene) individuals need to park. They need to know there is a place they can travel toward, park, and venture.
The city of Cedar Rapids owns over half of the land that makes up NewBo. Surely 1-2 percent can be devoted to citizens who seek to find a destination that entertains, feeds, and brings us together.
