New year brings new perspective
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Jan. 26, 2011 4:01 pm
As someone who has been in a profession where I see a lot of death and dying, it has made me look more closely at my own life and each new year brings more for me to contemplate.
I want to be more grateful for what I do have instead of worrying about what I don't have.
I want to share each happy moment with others and cut the stress in my life and the people around me.
I want to take better care of myself by exercising every day and eating healthy. I want to add more joy and juice to life by living with passion.
I want to laugh often and hard and make others do the same. I want to love easily and forgive easily. I want to help where I have opportunities to help.
I want to help the Cedar Rapids community by being a great citizen. And this encompasses “not doing what you should not do” and “not going where you should not go.”
